I could probably shred shirts like this for the rest of my life. Too bad I live with three cats.

BODY SKIN AND HAIR / © Sandra Backlund + Calle Stoltz
I’ve been obsessed with Sandra Backlund since her very first collection, but every time I revisit her website my girl-crush escalates a little more and I have to keep myself from writing her love letters written in my own blood.
How beautiful and intelligent is the above piece, from her BODY SKIN AND HAIR collection? The first time I saw this I immediately wanted a fur jacket, especially one with a sort of crushed-velvet look (as opposed to those fabulous shaggy coats that I doubt I could ever pull off). But on a student nonexistent budget, I assumed I would have to wait at least a decade or so before I could make that kind of investment.
But dreams do come true!
My mom was digging through her closet yesterday and pulled out this beautiful mint-condition cropped fur jacket, with that exact crushed-velvet texture I’ve been looking for, that she picked up at a consignment shop years ago for less than 15USD.
I’m never letting it go.
I’ll post some photos of it soon, as well as photos of another find – an amazing skirt suit from the 1920′s that a woman designed and made herself for her wedding, which eerily fits me perfectly. It needs desperately to be cleaned properly, and I think I’ll be reworking it a bit so it doesn’t look so period, but it still excites me.
